An examination of the cultural practices, institutional traditions, and psychological factors that inform the collecting of art and material culture in Western Europe and North America from 1750 to the Present. Seminar (two hours); one term Prerequisite(s): Registration in Level IV of any Honours program in Art or Art History Antirequisite(s): ART HIST 4H03 Cross-list(s): HISTORY 4DF3 Departmental permission required. This course is administered by the Department of History and students should apply using seminar ballots that will be available from the History Department following Reading Week.
