MUSICCOG 2MA3 - Music Cognition3 unit(s)
This course presents an overview of music cognition, covering such topics as musical acoustics, melodic and rhythmic systems, and mechanisms of perception and performance in music. Three lectures; one term Prerequisite(s): Registration in any Music Cognition program (B.A., B.Arts.Sc., B.Mus., B.Sc.);or credit registration in one of PSYCH 1F03 or 1X03 and, PSYCH 1XX3 and registration in any Honours program; or registration in Level II or above of an Arts & Science or Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) program; or ISCI 1A24 A/B . MUSIC 1C03 or completion of Advanced Rudiments (formerly Grade 2 Rudiments) from the Royal Conservatory of Music or permission of the instructor is required.
