REHAB 719 / Measurement of Outcomes in Rehabilitation Science 3 unit(s)
Prerequisite(s): Enrolment in the Rehabilitation Science program or permission of the instructor
The purpose of this course is to provide students with an in-depth coverage of measurement development and evaluation methods in health care and rehabilitation. Students will acquire knowledge in Classical Test Theory and Rasch Measurement Theory. Students will develop a measure or questionnaire and propose methods to test its reliability and validity. They will discuss the development and application of health-related questionnaires in economic evaluation and preference-based measures and have an in-depth coverage of different statistical approaches (cross-cultural validity, factor analysis, structural equation modeling, Rasch analysis, receiver operating characteristic curves etc.) in measurement.
