The fundamentals of deformation and fracture in a wide range of materials including metals and their alloys, ceramics, polymers, composites and foams; elasticity; plastic deformation and dislocation theory; strengthening mechanisms; thermally activated flow and creep; deformation under cyclic loading; fracture processes in both brittle and ductile materials; effect of temperature and fatigue on
fracture.
