PHYSIOTH 703 / Women’s Health

Prerequisite(s): Course is only open to M.Sc.(PT) program students. Students must have successfully completed PHYSIOTH 753.

Students will build on the knowledge and skills developed in previous clinical lab courses to develop a specific knowledge based in women’s health. In this course, students will focus on the role of the physiotherapist in the interprofessional management of perinatal care, and the management of pelvic health conditions. Students will become proficient in assessing and developing management plans for pelvic health conditions. This course will integrate pathophysiology, pain science, principles of evidence based practice, as they related to the role of the physiotherapist in the diagnosis and management of women’s health conditions.
