This course provides the foundation for understanding the microeconomic theory and the macroeconomic environment that dictate individual and corporate decision making. The course discusses the techniques involved in business decision making at the firm level. Specific topics include production and cost, profit maximization and competitive markets, and the general equilibrium framework. This course also presents and explains the causes and consequences of macroeconomic fluctuations and their interactions with the financial markets. The impacts of fiscal and monetary policies are also examined.
