Prerequisite(s): Enrolment in GDCE or by special permission of GDCE Director.
Antirequisite(s): HTH RS M 721
HRM-771 is a mandatory course in the online GDCE program. This course is designed to introduce methodological issues to help you critically read scientific reports of health research. It will introduce you to the major components of research activities, including: study designs, selection of study populations, choice of measuring instruments, formulation of research questions, and study interpretation issues such as determination of causality and the effectiveness of clinical and community interventions.
HRM-771 is also offered online in Spanish, for GDCE and non-GDCE (including post-degree) students. The GDCE program waives the usual English Language Proficiency requirement for post-degree students who request to enroll in the Spanish version of the course. Students taking the Spanish version of the course will write assignments and participate in online verbal and written discussions in Spanish. By requesting to enroll in the Spanish version of the course, you are acknowledging that you have sufficient comprehension of English to read scientific literature and watch online lectures that are published in English.
