Prerequisite(s): Enrollment is restricted to Child Life and Pediatric Psychosocial Care students only.
This course critically examines the principles, theories and practices of ethical decision-making that arise in pediatric healthcare. Ethical dilemmas within standards of practice including informed consent, duty to report, professional boundaries, and ethical considerations in pediatrics will be examined. Students will have opportunities for evaluation and reflection on differing views and values and how these apply to various contexts and codes of ethics. This is a required online course for Stream 1 and 2 learners, and runs for 6 weeks in the Winter Term.
