MANUF 701 / Project, Part II 3 unit(s)
Prerequisite(s): Enrolment in the M.Eng. Manufacturing Engineering program
The course is a continuation of MANUFACT 701 Part I and it requires the application of knowledge gained in earlier courses. The main objective is to teach students the concept of design optimization and design implementation on a manufacturing-centered project involving an external community partner. Students will spend most of the class-related time working independently or in groups on their projects to strengthen their understanding and application of system definition, synthesis, and analysis. The influences of economics, reliability, performance, safety, ethics, and social impacts on the project design must be addressed in the final report and oral presentation.
