BIOPHYS 3S03 - Soft Condensed Matter Physics

Soft materials include polymers, liquid crystals, surfactants and colloids. The course will cover structure, dynamics, phase transitions and self-assembly, and discuss applications and links to the life sciences.
Three lectures; one term
Prerequisite(s): One of CHEM 2P03 , CHEMBIO 2P03 , ENGPHYS 2NE3 , ISCI 1A24 A/B , MATLS 2B03 , PHYSICS 2H04, 3K03 ; or registration in Level III or above of any Honours program offered by the Department of Physics and Astronomy ; or registration in Level III or above of the Honours Mathematics and Physics (B.Sc.)  program
