An introduction to the social and political thought of women philosophers of Europe and North America working and writing from the 17th to 19th centuries. Central topics include gender and racial justice across themes such as marriage, sex, suffrage, and the abolition of slavery. Figures discussed may include Judith Drake, Gabrielle Suchon, Mary Church Terrell, Ida B. Wells-Barnett, Victoria Woodhull, and Clara Zetkin. Three hours (lecture and discussion); one term. Prerequisite(s): Registration in Level III or above and six units of Philosophy or three units of Philosophy and GENDRST 2AA3
