PHILOS 3MI3 - Philosophy of Mind

An introduction to some main themes in and approaches to the philosophy of mind, focusing on questions such as: What is the mind? What kind of mental states exist? What is the relation between mental states and brain states? What is consciousness? What is intentionality? How similar are brains and computers?
Three hours (lecture and discussion); one term
Prerequisite(s): Six units of Philosophy and registration in Level III or above
