This course covers the fundamental concepts of movement and storage of water within aquifer systems and its importance in the hydrologic cycle. The topics include Darcy’s equation, the groundwater flow equations, aquifer properties, heterogeneity, anisotropy, aquifer testing, well hydraulics, groundwater-surface water interaction, groundwater resources and management. Physical processes influencing groundwater contamination are also introduced.
