This course examines the relationships between technological and political change, with a particular emphasis on digital technologies and their applications to the practice of politics. The aim of the course is to further develop our understanding of the ways in which technology influences and is influenced by political dynamics. To that end we explore how the widespread adoption of various emergent technologies both conforms to and challenges different theoretical perspectives on politics. We do so by surveying a range of ideas and arguments in the field and then applying them within the context of technological transformations.
