MEDPHYS 4B03 - Radioactivity and Radiation in Medical Physics 3 unit(s)
Study of the radioactivity and radiation physics that underlies modern clinical medical physics by following the progress of an imaginary patient from their initial diagnosis through treatment for cancer. Topics include x-ray imaging, external beam radiation therapy, radiation dosimetry, radioisotopes in medicine, radiation shielding and radiation protection. The course includes 30 minutes of on-line lecture material per week.
