HTHSCI 1C03 - Social Justice and Healthcare I

This course lays a foundation in the concepts of social justice and healthcare. The course purposefully centres the perspectives of marginalized and racialized people and supports respectful dialogue and a critical examination of the determinants of health to cultivate awareness of societal inequities and to create societal change. Key concepts examined include intersectionality, power, privilege, ways of knowing and how they impact us as individuals and care providers.
One seminar (3 hours); first term.
