NURSING 3CN3 - Nursing Practice with the Community: Populations, Partnerships, Politics and Power 3 unit(s)
Students learn about community health nursing practice with diverse clients including individuals, families, groups, communities, and populations. Exploration of various community settings including primary care, home health and public health nursing will be the focus. Participation in small group theory and professional practice activities will allow students to learn about promoting the health of clients by understanding health equity and social determinants of health. There will be opportunity for students to engage in learning related to emancipatory knowing and advocacy. Tutorial (3 hours) and professional practice
Prerequisite(s): Minimum grade of C- in NURSING 2MM3 , HTHSCI 2H03 , 1RR2 , and a minimum grade of C- in HTHSCI 2LA2 A/B and a Pass in NURSING 2L03 , and registration in the B.Sc.N. Basic (A) Stream; or HTHSCI 2S03 and registration in the B.Sc.N. Post Diploma R.P.N. (E) Stream ; or Minimum grade of C- in NURSING 2V04 , HTHSCI 2H03 , 2HH3 , 1RR2 , 2C03 , and a minimum grade of C- in HTHSCI 2PF3 A/B , and a Pass in NURSING 2J04 , and registration in the B.Sc.N Accelerated (F) Stream
