ANTHROP 3CF3 - Climate Change, Changing Foodways and Politics
3 unit(s) What is the relationship between climate change, changing foodways and politics. Why is it that agri-businesses are reporting record profits while most farms lose money? Students will consider how the combination of climate threats in global capitalism, crop failures, price spikes, displacement and migration, and how these catastrophes might be averted if agricultural innovation and changing foodways keep pace with climate change.
Seminar (three hours) Prerequisite: ANTHROP 2F03 is recommended.
