KINESIOL 4PW3 - Growing Up Healthy: Pediatric Weight Management 3 unit(s)
This course explores the complex and unique considerations of promoting healthy weight in children and adolescents. Students will gain an in-depth understanding of childhood growth trajectories and the physiological, environmental, social, and cultural factors influencing the development of overweight and obese individuals. Students will also examine evidence-based, multi-disciplinary approaches to weight management in the pediatric years.
Lectures (three hours); one term
Prerequisite(s): KINESIOL 3U03 (or KINESIOL 2F03) and registration in Level III or above of an Honours Kinesiology program
Not open to students who completed KINESIOL 4VV3 in 2023-2024 Fall/Winter Terms.
