NURSING 3MH2 - Nursing Care and Practice in Mental Health 2 unit(s)
This is an applied professional practice course in which students gain confidence and knowledge of the nursing role within a range of mental health nursing settings. Utilizing therapeutic communication skills, a recover-oriented lens and principles of trauma- and violence-informed care, students will participate in a guided clinical practicum.
Professional practice (8-12 hours); one term
Prerequisite(s): Registration in level III or IV of the B.Sc.N. Basic (A) Stream; or the B.Sc.N. Post Diploma R.P.N. (E) Stream Program; or the B.Sc.N. Accelerated (F) Stream.
