Prerequisite(s): Enrollment is restricted to Stream 1 Child Life and Pediatric Psychosocial Care students only.

This course examines the meaning and value of play in child life practice. This course will explore and evaluate the therapeutic and developmental benefits of play in multiple contexts, and provide a critical evaluation of relevant research. Directive and non-directive, therapeutic, expressive and medical play techniques for use in child life clinical practice will be explored. This course is offered onlinewith both synchronous and asynchronous sessions in the spring/summer term.
