Provide an overview of the key pieces of physics in galaxy evolution from theoretical and observational perspectives. There will be a focus on recent results from both high and low redshift. Topics will include the formation of disk and early-type galaxies, the cosmological context of galaxy evolution, cooling and feedback in galaxies, chemical evolution, high redshift galaxy populations, dwarf galaxies, and simulated galaxies.
