CIVENG 3K03 - Introduction to Transportation Engineering 3 unit(s)
An introduction to the fundamentals of transportation systems and the application of engineering and mathematical principles to analyze and solve transportation challenges. Topics include transportation system priorities, functional and contextual classifications, traffic flow theory, level of service, queuing theory, signalized and unsignalized intersection design, travel demand modeling, safety, and the socioeconomic and environmental evaluation of transportation projects. Two lectures, one tutorial (two hours); fall term Prerequisite(s): Registration in Level III or above of any Engineering program
