FRENCH 3PP6 A/B - Teaching French as a Second Language: From Theory to Practice

An experiential learning course for students who are interested in pursuing a teaching career. It will combine observation, reflection, theory and practical experimentation on teaching French as a second language, with placements organized through the Hamilton-Wentworth and Halton School Boards. Approximately 60 hours on site at a school and 50 hours of presentation-based seminars.
Lecture (two hours) and Placement; two terms
Prerequisite(s): Registration in Level III or above of any program and permission of the department. Students are expected to have CEFRL B2 range competencies or completed DELF B2 examination and must contact the Department of French for enrollment.
Antirequisite(s): FRENCH 4P06 A/B 
Students intending to enroll in this limited enrolment course must submit an application to the Department of French by June of the preceding year. Application forms are available from the departmental office. As part of this application students must demonstrate a strong proficiency in both oral and written French. The Department reserves the right to ask candidates to take a French language placement test.
