The goal of the Master of Finance program is to offer students a high-quality course of study that will develop and enhance their understanding of the principles and practice of modern finance. In doing so, it prepares students to deal with complex concepts and the body of knowledge required of modern finance professionals.

Central to the program is the offering of courses taught by active researchers and industry practitioners. In doing so, the Master of Finance program aspires to foster critical thinking and a passion for learning among its students. The program is linked to the scholarly interests and activity of members of the Finance and Business Economics Area in the Faculty of Business. At the same time, it is cross-disciplinary inasmuch as it draws upon the academic expertise of members of a number of other disciplinary units within the University, including the Operations Management and Accounting and Financial Management Services Areas in the Faculty of Business and the Department of Mathematics and Statistics in the Faculty of Science.
