Return to: Areas of Study
The Department of Engineering Physics offers a Diploma Program in Nuclear Technology. The fundamentals of nuclear reactor physics, reactor thermal hydraulics, nuclear instrumentation, nuclear environmental quality, fusion engineering and radiation damage are important for nuclear power plant design, operation and safety, as well as in the technologies of many industries which use nuclear techniques. This diploma program provides an overview of the fundamentals in these allied areas and permits an in-depth study of topics to support the student’s interest in a particular industrial technology.

Admission
Applicants must hold a baccalaureate degree in the fields of engineering, science or mathematics with an acceptable grade point average, similar to that for entry into a M.Eng. degree program. Consideration will be given to work experience. In addition, applicants must be deemed to have satisfactory preparation, as a result of university education and work experience, to succeed in the program. The Department Chair, upon the recommendation of the departmental Graduate Admissions Committee, will make admission recommendations to the School of Graduate Studies. Requirements
