Maximum Credit Toward Degree Studies - up to 15 units pending approval of the student’s Faculty office
This program is composed of five courses developed in collaboration with the McMaster Office of Community Engagement; the Hamilton Community Foundation; McMaster Faculty of Social Sciences including the School of Social Work; and in consultation with the City of Hamilton and other key stakeholders in the Hamilton community. The program is delivered through a blended learning model. Particular emphases include the importance of assuming an anti-racist, anti-oppressive (ARAO), equity-seeking stance in working across difference within communities; the importance of grassroots, collaborative leadership in diverse urban communities; the practical, political, cultural, ethical, and interpersonal dimensions of doing community-based research and evaluation.
