Admission to the M.A. degree program requires an average of B+ or better in an undergraduate Honours program in Humanities or Social Sciences. Students with degrees in undergraduate Honours programs outside the Humanities and Social Sciences where there is a component of relevant courses will also be considered.
Requirements
In the M.A. program, each student is required to take a total of six graduate half courses (or equivalent): two core courses, two other Globalization courses, at least one of which should be offered by IGHC, and two electives and write a Major Research Paper (MRP, GLOBALST 708). During the fall term, each student will take the first required core course (GLOBALST 710) plus two other half courses. During the winter term, each student will take the second core course (GLOBALST 709) and an additional two half courses. Each student is required to prepare a proposal for his/her Major Research Paper and identify a potential supervisor and second reader during the winter term. The Major Research Paper will be completed during the spring/summer session and will be graded as a pass or fail.
