Admission

Completion of any Level I program with a Grade Point Average of at least 5.0 including a grade of at least C in three units from SCAR 1B03 , 1SC3 ;(or Level 1 Religious Studies). Satisfaction of the admission requirements for the Honours program in the other B.A. subject. For continuation in the program, see the section on Minimum Requirements for Entering and Continuing in a Program Beyond Level I  in the Faculty of Social Sciences Academic Regulations.

Notes

  1. Subject to meeting admission requirements, students may combine two subjects and be graduated with a combined Honours B.A. degree. These combinations are available within the Faculty, with programs in the Faculty of Humanities and with the Arts and Science Program.
  2. All Society, Culture and Religion students will be assigned a faculty mentor upon entering the program. It is the responsibility of the student to consult with the mentor at least once each academic year to discuss their academic goals and course options.
  3. Students must consult both departments to determine the manner in which the Research Methods/Statistics requirement is to be satisfied.
  4. SCAR 4R06 A/B  is strongly recommended for students considering graduate work in Religious Studies. Students are encouraged to consider language training that supports their studies in Society, Culture & Religion. The Department of Religious Studies offers courses in Arabic, Hebrew and Sanskrit.
