Honours Kinesiology (Level I)

Program Notes


  1. Application is made to Level I of the Honours Kinesiology program.
  2. Students must complete MATH 1A03  or 1LS3  by the end of Level II.
  3. PHYSICS 1A03  serves as excellent preparation for  , especially for students who did not complete Grade 12 Physics U. Completion in Level I is recommended.
  4. Upon completion of Level I Honours Kinesiology, including KINESIOL 1A03 , 1AA3 , 1E03 , 1F03 , 1K03 , students must maintain a Grade Point Average of at least 6.0 to continue in the program. Students who do not meet the admission requirements upon completion of Level I Honours Kinesiology will be subject to one of the following: 
    1. Students whose Grade Point Average is between 5.5 and 5.9 may register in the Level II Honours Kinesiology program but will be placed on program probation for one reviewing period.
      • A student may be on program probation only once, including upon admittance, and, therefore, by the next academic review must raise their Grade Point Average to at least 6.0 to continue in the Honours Kinesiology program.
    2. Students whose Grade Point Average is between 3.5 and 5.4 and/or who have failed to successfully complete each of KINESIOL 1A03 , 1AA3 , 1E03 , 1F03 , 1K03  may register in Level II Kinesiology General. 
      • Such students must attend a mandatory preregistration session with an Academic Advisor.
      • Students may take the Level II Kinesiology required courses for which the prerequisites have been met. 
      • At the next academic review:
        • Students with a Grade Point Average of at least 6.0 and successful completion of KINESIOL 1A03 , 1AA3 , 1E03 , 1F03 , 1K03  will be eligible to transfer to Honours Kinesiology.
        • Students with a Grade Point Average between 5.5 and 5.9, and successful completion of KINESIOL 1A03 , 1AA3 , 1E03 , 1F03 , 1K03  may transfer to the Honours Kinesiology program, but, will be placed on program probation. Students may be on program probation only once during their program, including upon admittance. By the next academic review, a student on program probation must raise their Grade Point Average to at least 6.0 to continue in the Honours Kinesiology program.
        • Students with a Grade Point Average less than 5.5 and/or who have not successfully completed KINESIOL 1A03 , 1AA3 , 1E03 , 1F03 , 1K03  must transfer to a non-Kinesiology program for which they qualify.
    3. Students whose Grade Point Average is between 3.0 and 3.4 will be transferred to Sciences Undeclared.  
  5. WHMIS 1A00 , a one-hour mandatory on-line Introduction to Health and Safety course, is a co-requisite to Level I courses with a lab component (KINESIOL 1A03 , 1AA3 ) and must be completed prior to the first lab.
  6. Laboratory Routine Practices, an on-line module available through Mosaic (Health and Safety Training), must be completed prior to attendance in the first lab associated with each of: KINESIOL 1A03 , 1AA3 .
