McMaster University and the United Nations University-Institute for Water, Environment & Health
Water Without Borders is a collaborative graduate diploma program between McMaster and the United Nations University-Institute for Water, Environment & Health (UNU-INWEH). The program focuses on the international water sector and addresses issues of water without borders, either geopolitical or disciplinary. Access to safe water and sanitation, the economics of water provision, the impact of climate change on water, environment and health, and the development of international policies to ensure water access, environmental sustainability and human health are among the issues that the program addresses.
Admission
The program is open to any student who is enrolled in or has accepted an offer admission to a graduate program (at the Masters or Doctoral level) in any of the six Faculties at McMaster. Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of their grade transcripts, reference letters and statement of interest. The evaluation will be made in terms of the applicant’s qualifications and interests in relation to the research goals and program of UNU-INWEH. Applications that have met the eligibility requirement will be assessed by the Water Without Borders program committee. Students can only be admitted at the start of the academic year.
Requirements
Students who are admitted to the program are required to complete the three courses that constitute the core curriculum.
Courses
The curriculum consists of three courses, all of which are non-credit courses at McMaster and all of which are required to graduate from the program. |
