Admission Notes
- Completion of MATH 1C03 is required by the end of Level II.
- Students seeking admission to the program should note that MATH 1A03 and 1AA3 were designed for Chemical & Physical Science Gateway students and MATH 1LS3 and 1LT3 were developed for Life Sciences or Earth & Environmental Sciences Gateway students. MATH 1A03 and 1AA3 prepare students for a wide variety of upper year math courses. MATH 1LS3 and 1LT3 prepare students for many (but not all) upper year mathematics courses. As a result, students who take MATH 1LS3 and 1LT3 are permitted to enroll in upper year courses, but some self-study of first year calculus topics (such as series and additional integration topics) may be required.
- Completion of either COMPSCI 1MD3 , DATASCI 2G03 (or PHYSICS 2G03) or MATH 1MP3 is required by the end of Level II, however, MATH 1MP3 is recommended in Level I.
Admission
Completion of any Level I program with a Grade Point Average of at least 5.0 including:
3 units
from the following courses, with a grade of at least C+
3 units
from
- the (see Admission Note 3 above.)
Program Notes
- PHYSICS 3A03 and 3C03 are listed in Level III but are offered in alternate years and may be taken in Level IV.
- A Minor in Astronomy or Statistics is not permitted in the Honours Mathematics and Physics program.
- Students must complete 3 units from COMPSCI 1MD3 , DATASCI 2G03 (or PHYSICS 2G03) or MATH 1MP3 . Students are strongly recommended to complete both DATASCI 2G03 (or PHYSICS 2G03) and one of COMPSCI 1MD3 and MATH 1MP3 .
- Completion of MATH 1C03 is required by the end of Level II.
- Students who entered the program prior to September 2022 may choose to complete one of MATH 3ET3 A/B S , 4P06 A/B S , 4W03 , STATS 4T06 A/B or 4W03 instead of PHYSICS 3ET3 A/B S , 4L03 A/B or 4P06 A/B . A total of 9 units of Level III, IV, V Physics or Astronomy courses will still be required.
- For students entering the program as of September 2022, completion of 3-6 units from MATH 3ET3 A/B S , 4P06 A/B S , 4W03 , PHYSICS 3ET3 A/B S , 4L03 A/B , STATS 4T06 A/B or 4W03 is required.
