PHYSICS 766 / Statistics in Astronomy

An introduction to statistical methods necessary for the evaluation of observations and the analysis of theoretical models. Topics include an introduction to robust methods, goodness-offit statistics, Bayesian analysis, differential and cumulative distributions and their comparison (the Kolmorov-Smirnof test), and Monte Carlo techniques.
