- All Level II and III ENGLISH courses are open as electives to students registered in Level II or above of any undergraduate program with the exception of the following:
- Courses restricted to students registered in programs in English may be available to qualified students in other programs if space permits. Students interested in such courses should request permission from the departmental counsellor.
- Level IV seminars are open only to Honours students registered in Level IV of an English program. Enrolment will be limited to 18 students per seminar when possible. A list of seminars to be offered will be available prior to registration and balloting for seminars for the next academic year will take place in March.

Those who took Grade 12 French U or the equivalent more than 3 years ago should speak to a departmental counsellor if they feel their French skills may be below the level required for entry into FRENCH 1A06 A/B .
- FRENCH 2Z06 A/B is intended for students who have completed Grade 11 French U. By taking this course, students may enter FRENCH 2M06 A/B which is the prerequisite for upper-level French courses.
