ENVSOCTY 3EC3 - Environmental Catastrophes 3 unit(s)
Formerly GEOG 3EC3 A discussion of environmental catastrophes such as large-scale releases of environmental contaminants, their context and their effects on human populations. Examples include the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico and the Chernobyl nuclear catastrophe. Human and systemic errors will be explored historically, politically and economically.
