CLPPC 706 / Pediatric Psychosocial Assessment 3 unit(s)
Prerequisite(s): Enrollment is restricted to Child Life and Pediatric Psychosocial Care students only.
For children and youth, managing stress or coping is a complex response created by a variety of factors. This course will address assessment of individual, family, social, and health care variables in order to determine risk to a child’s resilience, as well as the strengths or protective factors which may act to support coping. Students will learn about patient prioritization, goal planning with children, youth and families, and documentation of their assessments. This is a required course for Stream 1 learners, and runs for 14 weeks in the Winter Term.
