GEOG 771 / Applied Earth Observation

Prerequisite(s): Previous enrollment in at least one Remote Sensing course is required. Basic image processing and familiarity with information extraction from satellite data is assumed

The aim of this course is to acquaint students with applied Earth observation in Earth System Sciences. The course will focus on advanced use of ground, airborne and satellite observations for atmospheric sciences, geology, biogeosciences, climate/climate change, hydrology, cryosphere and oceans. A great emphasis will be placed on emerging technologies in applied Earth observations. The course will consist lectures, seminars and project works.
