Communication Studies is an academic discipline that encompasses many fields of inquiry. Graduates of this program will have an advanced knowledge of the nature, function and evolution of communication and will develop both practical and theoretical skills necessary to pursue careers in the field of communications.
Admission
Completion of any Level I program and a Grade Point Average of at least 5.0 and a grade of at least C in CMST 1A03.
Notes
Because MEDIAART 1A03 (or MMEDIA 1A03, if taken previously) is required for admission into the Honours Media Arts program, students registered in the Combined Honours Communication Studies and Media Arts program will substitute three units elective for MEDIAART 1A03 (or MMEDIA 1A03, if taken previously).
Students are required to take CMST 3HC3 by the end of Level III.
Students wishing to take more than the required three units of Level IV Communication Studies courses must first obtain permission from the undergraduate advisor for the Communication Studies program.
Students transferring into the program at Level IV should not expect to complete all of the degree requirements in one year.
