Combined Honours in Art History and Another Subject (B.A.)

Admission


Completion of any Level I program and a Grade Point Average of at least 5.0 including a grade of at least C in one of ARTHIST 1A03, ARTHIST 1AA3, IARTS 1HA3 , IARTS 1PA3  or IARTS 1PB3 . Students must complete both ARTHIST 1A03 and 1AA3 or three additional units in one of IARTS 1HA3 , IARTS 1PA3 , IARTS 1PB3  by the end of Level II (see Note 4 below)
This program is being phased out. The final year students will be admitted is 2023/2024.

Notes


  1. Before choosing Level II and III courses, students should become familiar with the prerequisites for Level III and IV courses.
  2. Students intending to pursue graduate work in Art History should note that most universities offering such programs require undergraduate work in at least one foreign language for admission. Students are encouraged to include the study of foreign languages as early as possible in their program.
  3. Students interested in enrolling in 3AB3 Applied Art History: Experiential Learning with Placement as an Intern must finalize planning of their internship with the program Counsellor no later than January 30 in order to begin the course in May, by April 30 in order to begin in September, or September 30 in order to begin in January of the same year.
  4. This program is being phased out. The final year students will be admitted is 2023/2024.

Requirements


120 units total (Levels I to IV), of which 48 units may be Level I

30 units

  • the Level I program completed prior to admission into the program

15 units


  • Level II Art History

3 units


  • Level IV Art History

36 units


  • Courses specified for the other subject. (Combinations with Social Sciences may require more than 36 units.)

18-21 units


  • Electives to total 120 units
