Admission to Level II iBioMed Programs


Admission to either the B.H.Sc. (Honours) Health, Engineering Science and Entrepreneurship (HESE) program or one of the B.Eng.BME Biomedical Engineering (BME) programs requires successful completion of all non-elective iBioMed I courses with a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 4.0. 

Notes


  1. Students may choose to follow a stream of recommended technical elective courses.
    • Process Systems Engineering (PSE) Stream:
      Required Courses: Three of CHEMENG 4H03 , 4E03 , 4G03 , 4K03 , and 4L03  (at least one PSE laboratory completed). Other courses may be substituted with permission of the Department Chair.
    • Polymer Materials and Manufacturing (PMM) Stream:
      Required Courses: Three of CHEMENG 3Q03 , 4B03 , 4H03 , 4X03 , 4Z03 ; and 4L03  (at least one PMM laboratory completed). Other courses may be substituted with permission of the Department Chair.
    • Sustainable Energy and Environmental Technologies (SEET) Stream: 
      Required Courses: Three of CHEMENG 4A03 , 4EC3, 4M03 , CIVENG 4V04 ; and CHEMENG 4L03  (at least one SEET laboratory completed). Other courses may be substituted with permission of the Department Chair.
  2. As well as completing the academic requirements as specified in this Calendar, students in a Co-op program must complete IBEHS 1EE0 . IBEHS 2EC0  will be added to the academic record for each 4-month work term.
  3. Students enrolled in the Integrated Biomedical Engineering & Health Sciences (iBioMed) program may take up to 8-units of research project or independent study courses. A full listing can be found on the iBioMed website.
  4. Students enrolled in a B.Eng.BME program wishing to enroll in a research project or independent study course will require a faculty member supervisor or co-supervisor with an appointment at McMaster University.

Level IV: 36-37 Units (2026-2027 ONLY)


Level IV: 35-36 Units (2027-2028 ONLY)


Level IV: 33-34 Units (EFFECTIVE 2028-2029)


Level V: 34-36 Units
