Admission to Level II iBioMed Programs


Admission to either the B.H.Sc. (Honours) Health, Engineering Science and Entrepreneurship (HESE) program or one of the B.Eng.BME Biomedical Engineering (BME) programs requires successful completion of all non-elective iBioMed I courses with a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 4.0. 

Notes


  1. As well as completing the academic requirements as specified in this Calendar, students in a Co-op program must complete IBEHS 1EE0 . IBEHS 2EC0  will be added to the academic record for each 4 month work term.
  2. Students enrolled in the Integrated Biomedical Engineering & Health Sciences (iBioMed) program may take up to eight units of research project or independent study courses.  A full listing can be found on the iBioMed website. 
  3. Students enrolled in a B.Eng.BME program wishing to enrol in a research project or independent study course will require a faculty member supervisor or co-supervisor with an appointment at McMaster University.
  4. Students planning to take IBEHS 4QZ3  should note that IBEHS 3S03  or IBEHS 4C03 is a prerequisite.
  5. Students are free to choose their electives according to their own interests but may consider the following course recommendations for a program of study. Students are responsible for ensuring that they fulfill the prerequisites for each course. Note that courses may be subject to enrollment limitations.

Level II: 32 Units


Level III: 31 Units (2026-2027 ONLY)


Level III: 32 Units (EFFECTIVE 2027-2028)


Level IV: 30-31 Units (2026-2027 and 2027-2028 ONLY)


Level IV: 31-32 Units (EFFECTIVE 2028-2029)
