COMMERCE 4PG3 - Corporate Governance3 unit(s)
Corporate governance deals with the complex set of relationships between the corporation and its board of directors, senior management (CEO), shareholders, and other stakeholders. The course also provides a broader benefit of enabling students to understand how corporate governance systems function and what is needed to make them work more effectively, especially in light of the corporate scandals of recent years. The class will discuss numerous issues related to the functioning of boards and individual directors with students providing research projects related to a major governance theme. Prerequisite(s): Registration in the Honours B. Com. program or level IV B.Com.* or level IV or V Engineering & Management Program. (*B.Com. students - see Faculty Note 6 .)
