EARTH SCI 6FE3 / Biogeochemistry of Algonquin Park Lakes 3 unit(s)
6FE3 is a 10 day, intensive, hands-on field camp where students carry out lake biogeochemical research, staying at the Harkness Research Station, on lake Opeongo in Algonquin Park. Students will learn how to use sampling and survey equipment for water and sediments as well as analyze samples in the field station lab. Students work initially in small groups to develop a whole lake survey for L. Opeongo, then work on individual hypothesis driven research projects on any aspect of biogeochemical cycling arising from the group survey results.
