Analysis of columns under centric and eccentric loading; Symmetrical and unsymmetrical bending analysis under centric and eccentric loading; Shearing stresses and shear flow in non-thin wall and thin wall members, longitudinal shear of beam members; 2D and 3D Mohr circle and theories of failure; Principal stresses under combined loading, design of transmission shaft; Design of structures under combined loading using 3D Mohr circle with ductile yield criteria.

Prerequisite(s): ENGINEER 2P04 or MECHENG 2P04  and registration in any Mechanical Engineering program
