An overview of Indigenous policy in Canada, with a focus on the Indian Act (the earliest race-based legislation in Canada) and its legal and sociopolitical ramifications.
Three hours (lectures and discussion); one term
Prerequisite(s): Three units of Level II Indigenous Studies; or one of SOCIOL 1C03 or SOCIOL 1Z03 and enrolment in Level III or above; or permission of the Department.
