WORKLABR 3Q03 - Community Engaged Research 3 unit(s)
How do we learn about our social world? How do we know if our ideas about the world are true? How do we find answers to important questions about our social world? How can our research address pressing problems in the community in practical ways? In this course, students will learn the qualitative research methods needed to address contemporary work and labour issues, exploring both the theoretical and practical considerations involved in data collection, analysis and presentation. Underlying this course is a commitment to social justice, underscoring how we can employ social science inquiry in collaboration with community partners to promote improved conditions at work and beyond. Prerequisite(s): Registration in Level III or IV of a Work and Labour Studies program or Level III or IV of a Community Engaged program Antirequisite(s): LABRST 3H03, LABRST 3Q03
