SOCIOL 4RD3 - The Sociological Indian: What is reconciliation and decolonization and why does it matter? 3 unit(s)
This seminar will examine how Indigenous peoples are represented in sociology from the late 19th century to the present and will discuss the ever-changing discourse of Indigeneity in the discipline.
Three hours (seminar); one term.
Prerequisite(s): SOCIOL 3FF3 and enrolment in Level IV of any Honours Sociology program; enrolment in Level IV of the Indigenous Studies program; or permission of the department. SOCIOL 2EE3 or 2UU3 and/or a background in Indigenous Studies is recommended.
