POLSCI 4EF3 - Political Economy of Finance for Green and Just Transitions

This seminar looks at finance for green and just transitions. Course material explores the historical, social, economic, and political determinants of change by paying attention to issues of class-based, gendered, and racialized forms of power, conflict, and struggle around finance for a greener and more socially just world. We will draw on real-world, concrete cases of institutions, movements, banks, and so on while deepening our conceptual understandings. This is a course designed for undergraduate students with an interest in finance but without any background in finance.
