Honours Art History (B.A.)

Admission

Completion of any Level I program and a Grade Point Average of at least 5.0 including a grade of at least C in one of ARTHIST 1A03, ARTHIST 1AA3, IARTS 1HA3 , IARTS 1PA3  or IARTS 1PB3 . Students must complete both ARTHIST 1A03 or ARTHIST 1AA3 or three additional units in one of IARTS 1HA3 , IARTS 1PA3  or IARTS 1PB3  by the end of Level II (see Note 4 below).

This program is no longer admitting students. Final admission to the Level II program was effective Fall 2023.

The School of the Arts now offers Honours BFA and Honours BA degrees in Integrated Arts (iArts). These programs provide interdisciplinary skills in art, performance, histories of the arts, theory and research, grounded in social justice.

Notes

1. Before choosing Level II and III courses, students should become familiar with the prerequisites for Level III and IV courses.
2. Students intending to pursue graduate work in Art History should note that most universities offering such programs require undergraduate work in at least one foreign language for admission. Students are encouraged to include the study of foreign languages as early as possible in their program.

120 units total (Levels I to IV), of which 48 units may be Level I
